About the funded R&D project
Sierra Leone has one of the world’s highest rates of upper limb amputation following years of conflict, and an estimated 90% of amputees have no access to a viable prosthesis. The project assesses whether Koalaa’s lightweight, low-cost soft prosthetic can be manufactured and distributed viably in that setting.
