Rare disease patients in the UK wait an average of several years for a diagnosis, often cycling through specialists while the signal sits unread in their existing primary care record. The Mendelian Rare Disease Scanner analyses electronic health records against known disease phenotypes to surface candidates for review, targeting the diagnostic delay rather than the diagnostic test.
