Tatton Consulting supported London-based seaweed materials company Notpla in its successful application to Innovate UK Smart Grants, awarded £348,694 by Innovate UK for the project Rigid Materials – Extrusion Project.
About the funded R&D project
Notpla’s early products were flexible: films, coatings and the Ooho edible sachet. Rigid applications, the takeaway box and the moulded tray, demand very different mechanical behaviour from a seaweed-based material. This project developed extrusion processes to reach them.
