About the funded R&D project
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease affects an estimated 20% of UK adults, is linked to obesity and type 2 diabetes, and can progress to cirrhosis and liver cancer. Most cases go undiagnosed because current detection is invasive. This project develops multi-modal non-invasive biomarker screening for the highest-risk undiagnosed population.
