Tatton Consulting supported Plymouth-based EV battery recycling company Altilium in its successful application to Faraday Battery Challenge Round 5 Innovation : CR&D, awarded £1,018,629 by Innovate UK for the project CAM-EV – Development of new processes to recover critical metals from multi-chemistry, end-of-life EV batteries and convert them into tailored cathode-active materials.
About the funded R&D project
The global EV transition could generate more than 11 million tonnes of battery waste a year by 2030, roughly twenty Wembley Stadiums’ worth. CAM-EV develops processes to recover critical metals from multi-chemistry end-of-life batteries, which is harder than single-chemistry recovery because the input stream cannot be controlled.
