About the funded R&D project
Metals for EV batteries are overwhelmingly sourced from large-scale mining outside Europe, at environmental, social and financial cost, with tightening legislation and expected tariffs adding pressure. ReTail tested whether recovering battery metals from old mine tailings works technically and stacks up economically.
