About the funded R&D project
Manufacturers need to predict how a battery will degrade under real operating conditions in order to design packs and management systems properly, and current methods require long test programmes. Breathe already has a commercial product in charge-time optimisation. This project develops a physics-based method to predict battery lifetime with quantified uncertainty over a much shorter testing window than competing approaches, which changes development timelines rather than battery chemistry.
