Tatton Consulting supported London-based agricultural AI company Hummingbird Technologies in its successful application to Innovate UK Smart Grants, awarded £349,179 by Innovate UK for the project Variable Rate Applications for Agrochemicals.
About the funded R&D project
Agrochemicals are applied at uniform rates across fields that are not uniform, which wastes input and creates runoff. Hummingbird analyses aerial and satellite imagery with machine learning to generate variable rate application maps, so that input follows the actual condition of the crop rather than the average of the field.
