About the funded R&D project
AI fibre analysis is only as good as the labelled data it learns from, and no comprehensive ground truth dataset for textile fibres exists. This project builds one: a commercial, high-quality dataset intended to serve as shared infrastructure for AI-powered fibre analysis across UK and global textile recycling, rather than as a proprietary asset for a single sorting system.
