About the funded R&D project
Demand for short wave infrared sensors is rising, and UK capacity to make them is not. This 12-month project with the Electrical Engineering Division at the University of Cambridge scales manufacture of quantum dot CMOS SWIR sensors onto 8-inch wafers. Wafer size determines unit economics in semiconductor manufacturing, so the scale-up step is what converts a working sensor into a commercially viable one and keeps that capability onshore.
