Tatton Consulting supported Essex-based sandwich manufacturer Raynor Foods in its successful application to Manufacturing Made Smarter, awarded £3,730,049 by Innovate UK for the project The Digital Sandwich – Digitised Food Supply Chain.

About the funded R&D project

Raynor Foods produces around three million sandwiches a week and served as the industrial site for the Digital Sandwich project, a distributed ledger and IoT demonstrator for food supply chain traceability. Running the trial in a live high-volume production environment rather than a laboratory is what distinguishes the project: the technical question was whether provenance tracking survives real throughput.
