Tatton Consulting supported Stoke-on-Trent-based automotive safety systems company AIM Technologies in its successful application to Commercialising Connected and Automated Mobility: Supply Chain, awarded £397,437 by Innovate UK for the project AIM-DBW – Development of a universal, ISO26262-compliant, CAM drive-by-wire platform.
About the funded R&D project
Most attention in autonomous vehicles goes to control software. The safety-critical interface between that software and the vehicle itself is equally demanding and largely overlooked, and affordable certified drive-by-wire remains a gap in the UK’s sovereign CAM supply chain. This project develops a universal ISO26262-compliant drive-by-wire platform together with the safety analysis needed to certify it.
