Tatton Consulting supported Growing Underground in its successful application to ISCF Transforming Food Production, awarded £184,264 by Innovate UK for the project Hydrobubbles to Boost Plant Growth Through Capillary Action.

About the funded R&D project

Greenhouses, polytunnels and indoor farms raise yield by controlling light, temperature, humidity and pest pressure, but the root zone remains harder to optimise than the air above it. This project developed hydrobubble delivery of water and nutrients through capillary action, working on the part of the growing environment that controlled environment agriculture has addressed least.
