About the funded R&D project
The UK’s specialist low-volume car sector is worth £3.6bn a year, employs over 11,000 people and exports 87% of the 28,000-plus vehicles it builds annually. Because volumes are low, the R&D cost of meeting each new international regulation falls on very few units. This project develops a low-cost universal Level 2 driver assistance system that spreads that compliance cost across the sector.
