Tatton Consulting supported Sutton-based AI proteomics company Eliptica in its successful application to Advancing precision medicine, which was awarded £679,134 by Innovate UK for the project DCAD – Developing better diagnostics for Coronary Artery Disease with novel AI-enhanced, ultra fast proteomics. The project’s total Innovate UK grant across all partners was £679,134.

About the funded R&D project

Proteomics at population scale has historically been limited by cost and by the volume of plasma each test requires. Eliptica’s founders developed an AI-enhanced, ultrafast mass spectrometry method at the Francis Crick Institute that works from very small plasma volumes. Over a 24-month programme with Bruker UK and UK Biobank, the project applies this platform to build a large reference baseline of the human proteome and use it to generate new diagnostic insight into coronary artery disease, where earlier detection changes the treatment options available.
