About the funded R&D project
Koalaa’s patented soft socket design has been adopted by over 3,000 amputees. This project adds sensory feedback: a haptic sleeve running from the proximal forearm to the wrist, leaving room for EMG electrode placement, giving closed-loop touch feedback from an upper limb prosthesis. Feedback matters because without it users rely on vision to control grip, which is slow and tiring.
