Tatton Consulting supported Test Valley-based cell and gene therapy company Laverock in its successful application to Innovate UK Smart Grants: January 2022, awarded £349,971 by Innovate UK for the project Developing Genome Editing-induced Gene Silencing (GEiGS) for allogeneic human cell therapies.
About the funded R&D project
Allogeneic cell therapy, using donor-derived cells, is commercially attractive because one cell source can treat many patients, unlike autologous therapy built individually from each patient’s own cells. Realising that requires precise control over gene expression in the engineered cells. This project develops genome editing-induced gene silencing as the mechanism for that control.
