Tatton Consulting supported Birmingham-based pharmaceutical formulation company Mesox in its successful application to Innovate UK Smart grants: January 2023, awarded £274,744 by Innovate UK for the project ASD3MAP: Amorphous Solid Dispersion Digital Design and Manufacturing Platform for rapid and resource-efficient development of bioavailable medicines. The total Innovate UK grant across all project partners was £357,249.
About the funded R&D project
Many promising drug molecules fail on bioavailability, and amorphous solid dispersions are a route around that. Developing them is slow and material-intensive. MESOX, with Aston University, spends 18 months refining molecular dynamics models and integrating commercial material science and simulation tools into an in-silico formulation development platform, shifting the work from bench trials to computation.
