Tagomics secures £856,657 through Biomedical Catalyst

Tatton Consulting supported Birmingham-based epigenetics and biomarker discovery company Tagomics in its successful application to Biomedical Catalyst 2024 Round 1: Industry-led R&D, which was awarded £856,657 by Innovate UK for the project InterlACE-CRC: highly sensitive, high throughput and cost-effective multi-omic diagnostics for early detection of colorectal cancer and critical precursor.

About the funded R&D project

Tagomics’ Interlace platform is a multiomics workflow that enriches unmethylated DNA for analysis without altering the underlying sequence, producing an information-rich dataset from a blood sample. The project customises the platform for early detection of colorectal cancer, targeting high sensitivity and specificity at high throughput, followed by a pilot study with the NHS. Detecting the disease earlier matters because colorectal cancer is considerably more treatable before it progresses.
